I think it would greatly improve the combat if you add a melee counter which can be preformed after a perfect parry. 


 **Reasons to implement**

1. Give players more options (gunstrike / counter). 

2. Better combat flow, maybe the counter can link to your weapon combos. 

3. There is potential for some cool animations, Powerfist (falcon punch / uppercut), Powersword (jumping stab / wide slash) ect. 


Some suggestions on how to implement: 

1. Have a short window to use it right after the counter (before the gunstrike). 

2. Should also give armor. 

3. Have some degree of super armor, not invincibility but make it so its not that easy to break the animation.

i've took this idea and pointed out an issue originating from not having a melee counter, stepped back from your idea of making it budget heavy (new animation for every melee weapon), and introduced a way to balance it (making it an alternative to a gunstrike rather than your idea of being able to do both) here
