Recycling the Campaign Abilities into New Classes

So its a pretty simple concept, we have 2 campaign specific abilities that aren't used beyond it. Why can't we just take those and make new classes around them?


Righteous Fury -> Litanies of Battle

Titus' signature ability, Righteous Fury, from the campaign would be really good in operations, granted it would have to be toned down a bit, but it can be made stronger through perk selections. I think if it's reflavored into Litanies of Battle, it could be a good fit for would a Judiciar Class, basically a Chaplain in training. Quoting from the 40k Fandom "Judiciars must prove their worth in battle to join their Chapter's Chaplaincy proper, doing so through acts of devotion and the slaying of enemies." This seems to fit the theme quite well, and perks could be used to spread the increased damage or a portion of the healing to other marines.

Battle Cry -> Psychic Blast

Gadriel's signature ability, Battle Cry, from the campaign could be useful for crowd control on higher difficulties. Perks could be used change the properties like increasing damage, increasing knock back, or even rooting enemies in place. With some added psychic visual effects and retitled to something like, Psychic Blast, this could be a good fit for a Codicier Class, a young Librarian in training working under the chapter's more senior Librarians. Being a lower rank of psyker would explain being only able to use one psychic power.

Chaos equivalents 

A Wordbearers First Acolyte for the Judiciar Class. The First Acolyte works under a Dark Apostle could be considered an equivalent to the Judicar training under a Space Marines Chaplain. Plus the strange dark religion stylings of the Wordbearers would be a cool to see as a in-game model!


A Thousand Sons Chaos Apprentice for the Codicier. While there isn't a lesser version of a Lesser Chaos Sorcerer, I think this class/name could kind of convey a similar feel without being too far removed. Also again, love the Thousand Sons style! Their Models in game really make me want to play one.

Possible Armor and Weapon Loadouts

I took some time and looked at the wargear loadouts for the units I referenced for these classes, and using that information I tried to pick things that were on theme while not giving them access to absolutely everything.

These are just some examples I came up with, most are piecemealed together from already existing perks, but I tried to make some new ones that sound/function in cool ways. (Please note I am not a game dev or very good with numbers, so I used X's in place of actual numbers because I'd have no clue how to balance these.

In Closing

So that pretty much sums it up, I know it's not super innovative, but I think it's something that could possibly be more feasible in the short term. Thank you for reading!
