Day/night implementation for operations maps. The game has pre-rendered shadows, which makes it ''easier'' to make lighting changes. Perhaps some light sources should be added to the maps, as they are not designed to be viewed at night. 

You can also add weather changes (rain and fog) as modifiers.

Expectations:


Step 1: Don't turn your back on the darkness, they are hiding in the shadows.UcEWpp.gif

More variation, more replayability. I'd love to see things like morning, midday, evening, night time and weather effects be something to see on certain maps. Maybe a random time of day for Inferno, Extermination might have heavy rain or not. 


We already have the sandstorms for Ballistic Engine, but what if sometimes we never got any and it was all bright and sunny? And what if sometimes the sandstorms don't stop and we can hardly see? Extra challenge as well as variety.


I do think adding everything for each map would be too much to ask, but each map having at least one visual variation would be really cool. It is a bit late to make suggestions like this and hope to see them in SM2, but I always hope that when we see a good suggestion that the devs consider it as something that we could see in SM3.

Of course! Each map could have one of these weather variations. The quadrant simply highlights which maps are compatible and which aren't.
