One thing I find tedious, especially since I enjoy experimenting and min-maxing (sue me), is the perks (both weapon and class). I don't understand why there are perks that only affect specific weapons, especially since you can’t tie perks to the loadout with those weapons.
For example:
When playing as a Heavy, I enjoy using the Heavy Flamer for most missions, but once it's time for those intense boss fights, I prefer to switch to the Heavy Plasma. However, I can’t do this optimally. Playing with the Flamer without the "Multikill" perk is awful on max ABSOLUTE difficulty, and using the Plasma without the "Thermal Boost" and "Additional Supplies" perks feels bad (in my opinion).
I would like to see class perks (and, to a lesser degree, weapon perks) tied to loadouts so that players can enjoy the power fantasy they deserve, rather than being forced to use suboptimal perks just because they want to use more than one weapon per mission. The argument that this would make the player too strong feels irrelevant since this is a PvE game mechanic, and higher difficulty settings can offset this. I also believe this would encourage more experimentation and re-playability.
I understand not having this for the class perks since it costs to swap these out but with the other ones its just tedious that you have to do it manually for free and it feels really bad if you swap weapons and forgetting to swap perks
Please leave feedback, as I’m sure there are things I’ve missed.
