Also happening to me on steam platform(steam deck) as of today's patch; many linux users and windows users are also reporting the same issue on steam community forums as well as the spacemarine subreddit. Unable to play the game at all. Attempted verifying game files, uninstalling and reinstalling as well as using different versions of proton with no change. Just upvoting and replying for more visibility.

Same issue happening to me: cannot connect to online servers after updating to version 3.0.W1.360000/360274

Played +40hrs before and after launch, right up until patch 3.0.

Have the exact same problem mentioned above.

Using different Proton versions shows no difference.

> Start game

> Enter the title screen & press Enter

> Error showing up.

> Multiplayer not working.

In the upper left corner, a message says "logged in" though, so it does not seem to be a epic problem (i guess).

And sorry for losing it a little here right now, but i'm kind of pissed because it's always the same.

It's not o.k, to publish a game, make it playable under linux, then release a patch and render half of it unplayable for a whole platform.

We linux gamers paid good money for a game that worked at first, which we won't get back now, do we?

Despite that, it is such a great game, and would be a real pitty, if once again linux games are left out, because of the statistically small playerbase.

I dont want to be unfair, but i hope for your understanding, that it's a little "frustrating"

I am experiencing the same issues as described above.

I am running Bluefin as my Linux distro, and I am running Steam from within the bazzite-arch distrobox container.

I don't know if it contains relevant information, but I launched Space Marine 2 with the `PROTON_LOG=1 %command%' launch option to capture the logs of this sequence:
1. Started the game
2. Skipped the skippable intro cards
3. Encountered the AVF error
4. Cleared the AVF error by hitting "enter"
5. Pressed and held R to reconnect
6. Encountered the error again.
7. Exited the game.

The game has previously been working without issue. After today's patch I am unable to connect, the game runs fine.

UPDATE: as of patch 3.1, this is still an issue on Linux Desktops and has not been resolved.

Error reproduced every time.

I was able to get into the game but no online, and "progress would not be saved" warning showed.

It appears that the `linux64` EAC binary is not published anymore in the modules CDN! Feels like they have flipped the "linux support" checkbox off.
