Patch 4 punishing solo players

Hi,

Firstly let me mentioned that, I love Warhammer franchise and i love Space Marine 2. Due to the work and family reasons, i am mostly playing solo as well in Operations mode. Managed to lvl up Bulwark and Tactiacl class and was running as well Ruthless difficulty. However since the last patch it's pretty much impossible to run it solo. Increased amount of small enemises, with on top 6-7 majoris class and extrimis as a cherry, while running with brainless bots isn't fun at all.

Why aren't you running with random groups? There's always been people when I queie up even late kight Pacific time. I think in all my runs since I got the game there were maybe three groups that were just horrible. Even groups were we all died a few times (level vs difficulty) were good. We just kept at it till we finished.

As casual player, doesn't want to ruin someone else experience and vice versa. Pretty much most of the people from my ps5 freind list is not interested in Warhammer. And im usually not interested in co-op games, SM2 is bit different because of the franchise.

Ok I can understand that. I feel that a practice room or level is something that was a big miss in the game because like you I didn't want to be bad with a class I was learning.

However I think you should give grouping a shot, I've found that the people in game are almost all cool. If you spend time on forums (like I do) you see vastly more negativity than you do in the game.

+1

For solo players, like myself, the game feels unfairly difficult for several reasons, the biggest one is the bot's uselessness, especially against bosses.

Ok I get it, this is a coop game, why to complain?

Well, it has a story mode, about 15 hours, loved it by the way, and if I am already bought the game I would like to enjoy it as much as possible.

If it never had a story mode, most probably I never would bought the game. But it has, and I did.

So tried operations, and totally loved them so far, you can pay the parts of the story where you were not present. Awesome idea.

With every patch the game got more difficult, at least for me, but it's ok, tried to keep up, with more or less success.

The latest patch made it, well certainly not unplayable, but rather unenjoyable for me.

So here I am, thinking about what to do. Maybe I should give it a rest until it's fixed, or I find something else.

Btw, really like the idea of the Lethal difficulty, anyone who looks for more of a challenge can go for it. I know I am not even gonna touch it, and it's all right.

Devs, just restore the sate of the game at patch 3.1 for the lower difficulties, from Minimal to Ruthless and I am good to go.
Maybe some melee balancing and bolter buffing, the rest of the tweaks can come later :)

What if Saber just made a solo operation mode? Maybe a third to a half the number of enemies? For the Heldrake fighr some way of Assault or Bulwark being able to kill the boss at range?

It would take work but I don't think it's that drastic that the game would have to be changed?

Some reasonable solo mode would be nice. I would even accept that solo characters can only play in solo mode, never in online mode. Different saves. Sign me up.

Believe me, I've been trying to do it with random people. Pretty much almost always had same issue. People was rushing foward without even minimal explore for the resources (ammo, grenades, stims or forge data's), so gave up and was very grateful for the private lobby.

Similar as the original post, I play solo due to family reasons. I just don't want to be that person who is making others experience in the game worse by dropping out or not paying full attention at the wrong time. I am really grateful that we can now pause solo operations, as I can now pause the game when a family member needs me for something.  Instead of having to talk and play at the same time, I can now pause the games and give that person my full attention. Even better, I can now step away if the task is a quick one like getting something off a high shelf. It has honestly been a blessing to me and I am very grateful for this addition.

BUT... prior to patch 4.0 I was having so much fun in operations, and just wanted more free time to spend playing it. Since patch 4.0 I have not enjoyed my time in operations. I was trying to convince myself I was just have a couple of frustrating runs, but I have been able to put in few runs now and they have all felt bad. I get so little free time these days for gaming that I don't want to spend them doing anything that I do not find fun. I was having so much fun in solo operations pre patch, and it makes me sad that seems to be gone now.

They should have the option on private mode to select which and how many bots you have with you and the game adjust enemy numbers accordingly.

This would also give the higher end players an opportunity to test themselves going pure solo.

Just done another atempt to do the mission on Ruthless difficulty. Everything was more or less ok, even after killing Neurtrop boss, until got a huge wave of enemies including tyranid extrimis. Managed to get rid of the wave and started to chip the damage from extrimis, then literally after 2 seconds the game decided to throw at another huge wave of enemies. I literally give up. Space Marine 2 deleted from PS5.

You basically rage quitted within 2 days. What did you expect? That they drop everything else on their list and just put a hot fix in for you?
Guess what, that will never happen. Things like that take time. And regardless of what people think, devs will try to improve the game.
I am not happy with the state of the game right now as well, mostly due to connection issues. But what you did here is childish.

Is that a problem? Some people saying playing video games after 30ish is childish. What I am trying to say is, there is as well a player base who doesn't have gods know how much time available to play SM 2 (I can potentially spend around 6-8 hours weekly), and they enjoy playing solo.

That's different :)
Thing is, it is pretty much okay to critisize. There is a lot to mention with SM2. But this "game deleted" move doesn't help. Because in the end, one critic less than before, right? So nothing to worry about anymore.
I love playing solo as well, and I wish it would be better. But after all... put the game aside for a month or two and see what happened.
Myself, what really drives me mad is the bad performance, half a second lags is a lot in shooters. And this makes it very frustrating. But... maybe they'll fix it before I lose interested. If not... I 'just' lost some money. If you cannot afford to lose money... don't invest until you're sure the game is in a good state.

The damage of bots to bosses is broken, this is a glitch and not intentional, just like the fact that they do not finish off opponents leaving it to you, but if you are already finishing off someone, they will finish off their own, they need to bring the bots in operations to the level of the company, although with this can ruin the game for some people because bots will steal your armor

Since the patch, the performance is no longer normal. Perrys often don't go through and it stutters with finishers and perry headshots. In close combat you currently lose the overview completely. This urgently needs to be fixed

The patch punishes everyone who used to enjoy the game. Why is it that devs are so gods damned tonedeaf? They've utterly ruined the game in one patch.

Everyone? OK. Thanks for telling everyone how to think, I guess.

Tried playing solo Inferno on the 2nd difficulty. Nope!

Bots are useless & barely made it to the half of the match.

Before this patch I could bring myself to the last round in Substantial at least.
