Ongoing Server Lag Making Co-op Nearly Unplayable After Recent Update 13 hours ago
My wife and I (plus a close friend) were super excited to jump back into Space Marine 2 after taking a short break — we were hyped for the new operation mission and prestige system. We’ve got a solid group that fills the 3-man ops perfectly, and we’ve always loved the game’s vibe and gameplay.
But ever since coming back, server performance has been awful — even in campaign. We’re all on fast, stable internet (1 Gbps fiber, no issues in any other games), and we play cross-platform (two PCs and an Xbox). The problems we’re running into:
Weapon reload animations stutter or loop 3–4 times before registering
Enemies lag or rubberband
Friends disconnect randomly from lobbies
“Joining Server” hangs or fails regularly
Even solo, bots are smoother than real players
This wasn’t happening before. Something clearly changed on the backend — and it feels like the servers were scaled down or deprioritized after launch, and now can’t handle returning traffic.
We’re not trying to hate — we love the game and want to play more. But right now, it’s basically unplayable with friends, which totally defeats the point of this co-op experience.
Please:
Look into server performance and matchmaking load
Let us host private co-op lobbies (without matchmaking)
At the very least, acknowledge the current issues publicly so we know it’s not on our end
This game has so much potential — don’t let poor network infrastructure kill the momentum. There are a lot of us still rooting for Space Marine 2 to succeed.
